The Never-Ending Homework Trouble (And the Funny Punishments!)

Honestly, I wasn’t the type of kid who caused trouble at school. I never got into fights, never skipped class, and never made a mess in the classroom. But there was one thing that always got me into trouble… homework.

Yes, homework. The thing that was supposed to be done at home, yet for some reason, I always “forgot” to do it. Not just once, not twice, but over and over again. And because of that, my classroom teacher had a special punishment just for me: writing promises on a full sheet of folio paper!

"I promise I will never forget to do my homework again."
"I promise I will never forget to do my homework again."
"I promise I will never forget to do my homework again."

Every time I forgot my homework (which was almost every day), I had to write this sentence over and over again. At first, it was just one sheet. Then two. Then three. Eventually, my punishment took up my entire recess time. While my friends were outside playing, I was stuck in the classroom, writing endless promises that, let’s be honest, I knew I wouldn’t keep by tomorrow.

But the writing punishment wasn’t even the worst part.

Since I kept forgetting my homework, my teacher started to suspect something and gave me a new task: getting my parents’ signature as proof that they knew their son was too lazy to do his homework.

But I was a smart kid (or so I thought). I came up with the perfect solution—if my parents didn’t sign it, I would just sign it myself!

And so, my little forgery adventure began. At first, my fake signature went unnoticed. I carefully imitated my dad’s handwriting, making sure it looked real enough. But the more times I forgot my homework, the more times I had to forge the signature. Eventually, my teacher caught on.

And, of course, I got busted.

When my teacher finally figured out what I was doing, she called my parents to school. That was the day my dad found out about my "brilliant" idea. And let’s just say… I got scolded. A lot.

I tried to explain that I never did my homework because I didn’t have the right books. But instead of sympathy, I got even more scolding for not telling them earlier!

Looking back, it was a ridiculous (and slightly funny) chapter of my childhood. I never truly learned my lesson back then, but at least I have a funny story to tell!
